Coach development

As part of the BTEC programme, we try to run as many additional coaching qualifications as possible to help the students gain more knowledge in specific areas.
We have held:
•Life guard qualifications
•Level one certificate in coaching football
•Tag rugby
•Level one coaching certificate in coaching rugby
All of these courses are run in association with the relevant governing bodies for those sports.
One of our current students, Ryan Mulford, gained his level one certificate in coaching football in 2006. He then gained as much work experience as possible and then went and worked in the United States for the summer before returning to his academic studies here at the Kingsland sports campus. Ryan said "The confidence that the level one coaching course at the College gave me was brilliant. It really made me want to do something with myself so I did and I am going back again next year."
