Children In Need 18 November

The Health and Social Care Department once again spearheaded this year's College activities and excelled themselves in putting on a good show.

The students joined forces with those from Childcare courses to support Children in Need because they felt passionate about children and what is happening to them throughout the world. Under the guidance of tutor Jean Maynard, the team arranged a series of events including those listed below the pictures.

Hundreds of College staff and students attended the event, which culminated in the release of the balloons.  This featured in a live link on BBC Three Counties Radio, during which Ruth Slack was interviewed and cajoled in to singing the special song on air! Following this the station sent down a reporter who interviewed one of the organising students and Chris Vesey, who praised Jean and the students for all their hard work. The students raised over £2,000 for the charity, which was up on last year.
