Job Application Guidance Notes

If you require acknowledgement of your application, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope. Due to the high cost of postage, if you have not heard from the college within two weeks of the closing date, we regret that it will mean that your application has been unsuccessful.

Canvassing of members of the Corporation, directly or indirectly, in connection with the application will disqualify the candidate.

Candidates are advised that if they have previously accepted early retirement from a teaching post and are appointed to a new post, they should advise the Paymaster General, Sutherland House, Russell Way, Crawley, West Essex, RH10 1UH

Candidates who accept appointment will be required to complete a medical questionnaire for submission to the Occupational Health Service, and may then be required to under go a medical examination or eye test.

In accordance with Home Office Circular HOC (86) 44, the College is required to check with the police via the Department of Further Education on any possible criminal background of those with access to children. This information will not be considered until a decision has been made using the normal selection process.

The information given in your application is used to determine starting salary. It is important that full information is given about full-time, part-time work, including number of hours, education, qualifications and work experience (whether teaching or otherwise), together with precise dates. Evidence of qualifications will be required on appointment.
