Below is a breakdown of fees for full-time courses at Dunstable College. The fees are made up of Tuition, resources and examination fees, with some student being exempt or able to pay a reduced rate for some sections of the fees. Each course description within the course search facility provides the total fee for the course, whether it be full or part-time.
Tuition fees
Full-time courses for 16 – 18 year old learners are free of charge for adult learners aged 19 and over a modest tuition fee is charged which is included in the tables below. For adults on means-tested benefits a nominal tuition fee of £40 is charged and this figure is included in the total fee quotes for each subject area.
Resources fees
Although tuition is free for many learners and a modest price for others, all full-time learners are required every year to pay a resources fee, to enable each student to receive the requisite equipment for the course. Learners on two year programmes must pay a resources fee at the beginning of each academic year. Inevitably the resources for some courses cost more than others and this is reflected below. Resources fees for oversees students are included in the total fee that they are charged.
Examination fees
In general, all examination, registration and assessment fees are paid by Dunstable College. However, there are exceptions such as Key Skills, where if a learner wants to re-sit a particular test, they will be charged a nominal fee for subsequent attempts. As is the practice elsewhere, learners who fail to attend public examinations, for which they have been entered by Dunstable College, will be required to repay the full cost of that examination entry. Learners who fail to attend an examination they have been entered for by Dunstable College, will be required to pay for future retakes for the same qualification. Exceptions will only be made for serious medical conditions that are verified by a bone fide certificate from a medical practitioner.

Please note: Refund of fees - Learners should understand that the fees quoted above are only refunded if a course is cancelled. Early leavers are not entitled to a refund of their fees.
