Student Welfare Services
The Student Welfare Team is committed to helping you access services and providing support to enable you to get the most out of your time at college.
The Student Welfare Helpdesk is located at the main Kingsway campus in Dunstable and is a one-stop-shop for any query you may have. The team holds information on transport, accommodation, FE financial assistance, HE funding, childcare, enrichment, NUS cards etc. They also hold contact details for a wide range of local and national organisations which can help you with a vast range of issues.
The Student Welfare Team works closely with tutors and tutor assistants to help resolve difficult situations that students may face by exploring choices and considering possible solutions. The information and advice given are impartial and confidential.*
If your query is complex, the Student Welfare Helpdesk Advisor can make appointments for you to see Connexions, Student Welfare Staff or the Funding Team. If appropriate, the Advisor will make referrals to other college staff, outside agencies, or mediate with them on your behalf.
During the academic year, the Team will also visit Dunstable College’s other campuses at the Kingsland Skills Institute campus in Houghton Regis and the Learning Warehouse Leighton-Linslade. Pre-arranged meetings may be set up here as required.
* Information given to staff is confidential to the College and should only be shared with other staff members on a need-to-know basis. Consent should be sough when sharing information unless the withholding of it will cause risk or harm to others or it relates to a Child Protection issue.
